A one-year Transformation Journey TOWARDS DIGITAL WHICH ENGAGED ALL THE COMPANY’S PEOPLE TO ENVISION AND RE-SHAPE THE FUTURE together.

 

NEEDS

  • Fertilize the entire corporate population towards a digital culture

  • Prepare management and integrate the culture of Smart Working in view of the change of location and new leadership models

ACTIVITIES

  • 2 waves of digital readiness mapping with SmartiveMap

  • Design and execution of a full Transformation Journey (content, organization, speaker selection)

PARTICIPANTS AND LOCATION

  • 450 people involved for about 12 months

  • Learning experiences within the company and in inspiring locations our of office (tech companies offices, digital incubators, etc.)

FIRST, MAPPING DIGITAL READINESS

A full analysis of the digital readiness of the whole Volkswagen Financial Services population was conducted by SmartiveMap, our digital assessment platform.

The main benefits of the check-up were the identification of people with the high level of Digital attitude to engage in the Digital Champions program, and the analysis of the learning gaps to plan the following Digital Academy

At the end of the Journey a second wave of SmartiveMap was conducted to compare the results and check the improvements

ENGAGING DIGITAL CHAMPIONS

A special mission to Berlin to engage the Digital Champions on the key themes of the program started up the Journey. Equipped with a special expedition kit and onboard at traditional VW Bulli, the Champions had the opportunity to visit the art exhibition «Error. The Art of imperfection» at Drive VW Group Forum, the Digital Lab and VW Headquarters.
This initiative kicked off a special program to inspire and support the Digital Champions within the Transformation Journey.

MAKING THE LEADERSHIP TEAM AWARE

Through activities of co-creation and design thinking, the leadership team was onboarded on the Journey with a series of dedicated workshops. The starting point was the Smartive Manifesto and the 8 key paradigms of Digital Culture: understanding, envisioning and supporting the Journey were the main goals of the program.

ENVISIONING FUTURE, TOGETHER

The whole management of the company participated in a series of workshops hosted in inspiring locations (tech companies offices, startup incubators, etc) to discuss the company’s digital strategy.
According to the Sharing Group format, each session included the intervention of selected managers (Smartive Community) from external companies to share experiences and insightful case histories.

FERTILIZING THE WHOLE COMPANY POPULATION

After the Digital Champions and the management, a series of Digital Breakfasts, informal meetings with external inspirational guests, extended the Journey to the rest of the Company.

18 appointments about different topics, from smart working to Digital culture and the impact of the Digital Transformation in the automotive industry.

LEARNING, LEARNING, LEARNING

The Journey continued with a structured Digital Academy: the Smartive’s approach leverage peers-to-peers education, and the speakers of the Academy were managers and leaders from leading Digital companies.
All the employees of Volkswagen were involved in the classrooms, and the learning experience mixed up physical sessions with e-learning courses in a dedicated platform.

A 2-day event, a powerful engagement and learning tool to develop innovative ideas for the future of the company through innovation projects

150 participants, 16 working groups, inspiring speech, design thinking facilitated by Smartive, continuous feedback, energy and strong collaboration!
